You are in control of your data. This policy explains how to delete your WhereSit account and personal information, what is removed, how long it takes, and what we may be required to keep. It applies alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Deleting Content Within the App
You can delete individual voice recordings, transcripts, notes, reminders, and to-dos at any time directly within WhereSit. Deleting an item removes it from your account and from synced devices. If the item was shared in a group, it is removed from that shared space as well.
2. Deleting Your Account
To permanently delete your entire account and associated data, you can use the in-app account-deletion option (where available) or submit a request by email:
- Send an email to WhereSit.app@gmail.com.
- Use the subject line: “Account Deletion Request - WhereSit”.
- Include the name and email address associated with your WhereSit account so we can verify your identity.
3. Verification and Timeline
To protect your account, we will verify your identity before processing a deletion request. Once verified, your account and personal data will be deleted from our active systems within 30 days. We will send a confirmation to your email when the deletion is complete.
4. What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your profile and account information, including your name and email address.
- Your voice recordings and their transcripts.
- Your notes, reminders, to-do items, and the tags and categories linked to them.
- Your group memberships and the permissions associated with your account.
- Your notification tokens and device associations.
Please note that content you previously shared into a group may remain visible to that group’s other members if they have saved or copied it, since it forms part of their shared workspace.
5. Data We May Retain
After deletion, we may retain a limited amount of information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our agreements. We may also keep anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you. Any retained data is held only for as long as required and is then deleted.
6. Reactivation
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account and data are deleted, they cannot be recovered. If you wish to use WhereSit again afterward, you will need to create a new account.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions about deleting your account or data, please contact us at WhereSit.app@gmail.com.
